PRIVATE LOGGING

Logging farms and acreages from Salmon arm, Kamloops, to 100 mile.

Serving the North Thompson, South Thompson, North Okanagan and Shuswap regions.

Our mission is to demonstrate sustainable logging practices while we help keep your property safe from wildfire, and bring you a substantial amount of income from your timber value.

B.C. Forest Safety Certification

West Meadow Contracting is proud to have achieved SAFE certification through the B.C. Forest Safety Council. This certification reflects a high safety management system standard that is recognized provincially.

Investment

Our services are compensated from the value of timber present on your property. Land owners generally make a significant amount of income from the timber as well. There is no transfer of funds between us and the land owner. Once we view the timber on the property, we are able to give a price on the cost of our logging.

For example: If we market your timber and the mill pays $125/m3 for Fir, the land owner would receive $125/m3 minus the cost of logging and trucking. The cost of logging varies based on the amount of timber present, slope, and area. The cost of logging on average is between 40$/m3 and $80/m3.

Requirements

Generally we only take on properties that have 20+ acres of timber present. If you are looking to only have a few trees fell, we recommend looking for a hand faller.

How It Works

Step 1: Contact us using our form below or call Cameron at 778-220-3392

Step 2: Set up a time to have Cameron and Cody walk your property.

Step 3: Apply for your Timbermark, click HERE to go to the government website. We recommend taking this form directly to Front Counter B.C. to speed up your application.

Step 4: Once you have your timber mark you can purchase your log hammer. This is so the mill can identify where each load of logs comes from. We recommend Jim Knight, click HERE for his contact info.

We take care of the rest. We will market your timber to a handful of mills to get you the best price we can for your timber. As soon as your timber is sold and the necessary paper work is complete, we can start logging.
